Southern Delaware Surgery Center, LLC (SDSC) opened the doors to its spacious, new facilities and began operations in 2004. Its four state-of-the-art operating rooms, conveniently located at the Beebe Health Campus on Route 24, serve the outpatient surgical care needs of residents and visitors in the Southern Delaware community.

SDSC represents a joint commitment by Beebe Medical Center and several of its top surgical physicians to make excellent, cost-conscious ambulatory surgical care available to the community. By joining forces, both Beebe and the participating physicians are able to serve the growing need for such medical treatment with less redundancy, greater efficiency, and a wider range of competence than any of the group could provide separately.

"Surgeons are excited to be associated with and hold ownership in this new center," said board chairman and urologist Dr. Richard Paul, when plans were announced in November, 2003. "The facility will offer the latest surgical equipment, has an efficient design, and will be convenient for our patients, which makes all of us eager to perform surgery there."

SDSC is licensed by the state of Delaware, accredited by AAAHC, certified by Medicare, and participates with most insurance companies.

As an approved Ambulatory Surgery Center, under federal guidelines, Southern Delaware Surgery center is authorized to provide over 2,500 types of outpatient surgery.
